Askern became a spa town in the 19th century when it gained a reputation as having water with healing properties. A number of bath houses were built and the construction of the railway enabled people from across the Pennines to visit and enjoy the spas. Today the town provides an excellent selection of everyday amenities and benefits from quick connections to Doncaster’s many attractions and the M62 leading to other commercial centres.
